CNBC and Yahoo Collaborating to Provide Financial News

Yahoo and CNBC are partnering to supply content on one another’s platforms. The collaboration, announced Wednesday, is expected to boost page views as well as the brands’ reputations as financial news leaders.

Reporters for Yahoo Finance will gain entry to “to real-time financial reporting as well analysis and interviews from CNBC, TV’s biggest business news channel,” according to CNET. Both companies will produce signature videos on their sites.

Yahoo is already a traffic generating powerhouse, boasting, on average, 700 million users viewing its website each month.

“Partnering with CNBC will allow Yahoo Finance to expand its offerings instantly and enhance its position as the most viewed and utilized finance site in the world,” said Yahoo’s interim CEO, Ross Levinsohn.

Already known for strategic partnerships, Yahoo’s collaboration with CNBC is no surprise, says msnbc.com: “For instance, it has a deal with Walt Disney Co’s ABC News to use its content and jointly produce journalism projects.”

Yahoo has also teamed up with The Associated Press, Dow Jones, and Reuters to provide news for its users.

If Yahoo’s history is any indication, its most recent collaboration with CNBC will be a mutually beneficial relationship. Links posted on the site have seen record-breaking traffic.
