Infographic: The State of Data-Driven Marketing
Did you hear the story about the marketer that got torn apart at his quarterly meeting? It was so bad he cried for his data.
Now, that’s a bad joke that only works if you say it out loud, but it underscores a serious point: Data is taking over the marketing world—and we have the infograph, courtesy of Adweek, to prove it.
In a joint study of 3,000 marketers and advertisers working in 17 different countries, The Winterberry Group, Global DMA, and MediaMath found that data is becoming an increasingly integral tool for marketers everywhere.
There’s a ton of important data points in the infographic, but perhaps the most significant finding from the study wasn’t even included in the finished product: Spending on data has increased exponentially year-over-year. Sixty-three percent of respondents reported budget growth in 2013, while an additional 10 percent expected even more money to go toward data in 2014.
Check out the infographic below for more insights about how data is transforming the way we evaluate our marketing. Considering that 77 percent of marketers are confident in their data-driven approaches, they probably won’t be crying for daddy any time soon.
