Brilliant Move: Glacéau Fruit Water Sponsors Amy Sedaris’ Adventures on Tinder

Twenty-somethings love talking about horrible dating apps and funny videos we saw online. What we don’t talk about is fruit water—until now. That’s because Glacéau recently released a new web series with PopSugar featuring comedian Amy Sedaris. As a funny lady myself—and admittedly a Tinder user—I cannot stop watching “Seriously Distracted.”

Nothing is sacred for Sedaris’ quirky PR head of a PR agency—SoulCycle, James Franco, and Scandal are all targets for Sedaris and her minions. The second episode of the series, “JD Joins Tinder,” is uncomfortably relatable and my favorite so far. It features the special kind of agony that only people under 30 can understand—deciding how many emojis to use:

This video has reached over 25,000 views in less than a week. That’s a significant audience for a brand-new web series. In fact, “Seriously Distracted” is already being covered by Jezebel and the Huffington Post. Even the famed Upright Citizens Brigade is a fan.

That’s when you know you’ve made some seriously funny work. Lines like “I want my man to know his way around a GNC and my body” definitely help.

For its part, Glacéau’s sponsorship is appropriately subtle. There are no scenes where the actresses paint their nails and discuss the great taste of Fruit Water. In fact, the only hint that “Seriously Distracted” isn’t a completely indie production is this three-second mention in the title sequence and credits:

That leaves the viewer free to focus on what matters—like “Freudian swipes.”
