Lady Gaga Makes Social Network for Her Little Monsters

Lady Gaga, who dominates Twitter and Facebook with millions of fans, has decided to take her social media strategy into her own hands. She’s developing Little Monsters, a social network that will be used exclusively by her fans.

On Twitter, Gaga boasts 24 million followers, and on Facebook, she’s reached 51 million likes. She also has 330,000 fans on Google+, as well as more than one billion views on her YouTube videos.

“The name [Little Monsters] comes from her nickname for her fans, and on the site her fans can share photos, videos, swap Gaga stories, and stay in communication with equally obsessed fans,” according to Business 2 Community‘s Sarah Harris.

The site will be a mix of Pinterest, in that there will be areas to post and repost images and items, and Reddit, since fans can rate the content.

Little Monsters is still in the beta phase, and is expected to be released later this year.

It’s no surprise that Gaga, entrepreneur and social media queen, has decided to go out on her own social networking venture.

On her Twitter, she is an inspiration to marketers: Over the course of a few years, she has built up a huge following, and her fans are heavily involved in her stream of tweets.

If all goes well, this could set a precedent for other celebrities who have garnered a large amount of fans on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and the other big social media networks.
