On Spiffing Up Your Brand’s Facebook Timeline With Images

Facebook Timeline for brands is more visual than ever, encouraging marketers to upload cover photos, profile pictures, custom tabs, and milestone memories.

It’s no secret that Internet users love images, and they even get more engagement on Facebook. In fact, photos received 50% more likes than non-photo posts on Facebook.

Brands should take note and get on with making their Facebook pages and posts more visual. Social Media Examiner has five tips on how to get started.

The first step is to post an interesting cover photo that brings “a strong visual impact to your page by extending your brand with lifestyle imagery, product images or a description of your services,” writes Social Media Examiner‘s Tim Ware. It is also important to post a profile photo that represents the brand well, since it is an extension of the cover photo, is the thumbnail that represents your brand in users’ Facebook feeds.

Ware also suggests creating your own graphics for customs tab and using them to promote the branding messages or other social media sites. Evian, for example, uses its custom tabs to showcase its Instagram photos, YouTube video, and Twitter updates.

Facebook Milestones are also helpful for visualization, letting brands post photos of their company’s past. Don’t miss that opportunity to incite nostalgic memories among fans.

We enjoyed Ware’s tips on how to enhance a company’s Facebook Timeline with images. What tips would you add? Let us know in the comments.
